OVER 75% OF ALL NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS ARE HEALTH AND FITNESS RELATED…
…yet only 8% of people are actually setting and achieving theirs.
It means that there is a serious problem with the whole concept of a New Year’s Resolution and there is a HUGE disconnect with what we say and what we actually do…
A Nielsen study illustrated this perfectly, so lets break down the numbers;
– About ¼ of us will SAY we will lose weight in the New Year by eating healthier.
– And ¼ of those will only even bother to TRY. Not succeed. Simply TRY.
Which means that a mere 1 out of 8 people who SAY they will lose weight in the New year will only even TRY!
So why is it that at the most opportune and natural time for us to smash our goals – the goal that’s so fundamentally important to us that we are willing to commit an entire YEAR to making it happen – we always seem to fall at the first few hurdles?
Allow me to explain…
Success in any area of our life is 80% Psychology. That is, actually making the definitive decision to go ahead and do it.
Most of the time our psychology is the greatest block and barrier preventing us from achieving our result. But at this magical time of year we all get to hit that giant reset button, turn over a new leaf and start fresh.
Thus our motivation is high, so typically our psychology is not the challenge in this case.
So then what’s missing?… what’s the other 20%?
Put simply, motivation without the right strategy just makes people do dumb things faster.
So if you’re coming up to the end of yet another year in which you failed to achieve your health and fitness goals, maybe its time to rethink your strategy and capitalise on this end of year phenomenon.
I want to work with you in the new year and make 2017 the year everything changed, so I’ve put together a little something to kickstart your health and fitness in 2017.
